We had a lovely, informative, inspiring lunch on Saturday with a group of artists of diverse specialties and disciplines. We had sculptors, painters, teachers, fabric designers, illustrators, fine artists and graphic artists and probably more since most of us are interested in all things creative. Many of us had never met one another but thanks to our hostess, Lori Mitchell, the ice was soon broken. Lori found some especially beautiful pears at Von’s so we all tried our hand at a little impromptu pear painting during lunch

My husband gave me an iPad for our anniversary and I love it! I use it for a variety of things but until recently I never thought I would like to use it as another creative tool.

I’m sure you’re all getting tired of seeing this image go by, but I was excited to receive notice last week from the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles, that my self promotion piece was accepted into this year’s annual competition! Thank you Illustration West judges for the honor of being accepted!
